DESCRIPTION: This is a very unusual, large size, toy truck made by Marusan in Japan probably in the 1950‘s. It is marked “SAN“ in a circle on the truck, and “MARUSAN SAN KUMA SAWA JAPAN 1953“ on the trailer. The truck and trailer have “CHILD TRANSPORTATION WEST -- U.S.A. CO. TEL 5113“ on them. On the back of the truck, it says “LIONâ€. The truck features a friction motor. MATERIALS: All lithographed and factory painted and chromed tin with rubber drive wheels on the truck DIMENSIONS: Over 18“ long CONDITION: Overall GOOD, PLAYED-WITH CONDITION. The friction motor works. It has lots of shiny original paint, but there is some paint chipping, mainly on the front fenders of the truck. One hubcap on the trailer is a similar, but incorrect, glued-on replacement. The hitch or prong on the truck that the trailer hooks onto is a replacement. If you collect old tin toys that were made in Japan, this should be a very interesting toy to add to your collection. It might quite possibly be very rare! If you win more than one item, we will combine the items for shipment and charge shipping according to weight.
